Christopher Nolan really went full psycho-mode for The Odyssey. It’s the first movie shot 100% on IMAX film, which means zero digital sensors and zero computers used in editing. Just raw chemistry. The physical bottlenecks are wild: • The camera gears are so loud they sound like a chainsaw, so they had to build a 300lb soundproof "coffin" just to record dialogue. • Because the film strips are so massive, they could only shoot for 2.5 minutes before running out of tape. • Editors literally used scissors and glue to cut the movie by hand at the last 70mm lab left on Earth. Why do it? Digital turns reality into square pixels, but film catches continuous light waves. It’s basically the closest thing to how the human eye actually sees. Pure industrial engineering over code.
• Be Christopher Nolan rejected by film school with a flat “no thanks” letter — but said screw it and kept shooting anyway. • Be Christopher Nolan who studied English lit at UCL, joined the film society, borrowed 16mm cameras, and made shorts on weekends with pure hustle. • Be Christopher Nolan filming stop-motion Star Wars rip-offs in the garden at age 7 with his dad’s Super 8 and never stopping. • Be Christopher Nolan who self-funded Following for £3,000, shot it over a year on Saturdays, and still got noticed at festivals. • Be Christopher Nolan turning his brother’s wild story into Memento — studios called it “too confusing” for a year, then it exploded and got an Oscar nod. • Be Christopher Nolan who saved Batman with real stunts and IMAX, crushed the trilogy, then dropped mind-benders like Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Tenet, and Oppenheimer that made billions and won him Best Director Picture. • Be Christopher Nolan who just announced for his biggest one yet — The Odyssey, shot entirely on IMAX film cameras with Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya and more — go on sale today for the July 17 release. • Be Christopher Nolan: the guy the system said no to… who just kept filming on real film and is still rewriting blockbuster cinema.

This post made me and my whole family sad. What an age we live in where the beautiful human imagination and work ethic (Nolan) may get brushed aside for an image generated by a prompt. This movie will mark the peak of human ingenuity in film to the AI era feeding us crumbs

If $KRKNF $PNG.V end up up-listing to the TSX, they'll have to start reporting quarterly, if im not wrong. This will provide much more consistent financial disclosures and will provide a wider window into the company's business. Exciting times!!!

A new paper in Global Policy finds the amplification of speculative claims regarding deep-sea mining through NGO advocacy campaigns and media narratives have undermined evidence-based dialogue, and hindered informed decision making. “Safeguarding the role of science in global deep-sea mining governance demands humility from researchers, responsibility from publishers, discernment from policymakers, and a collective commitment to resisting the temptation to let advocacy override evidence.” Read the paper: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/… #deepseamining

$KRKNF is one of those stocks that intend to ride till I die or fly. My average starting position is 3.98€ and when it went it up to 6.25€, even the though of trimming didn't occur. Maybe a dumb decision, idk, but I have a lot of faith in this company.

People are sleeping on $KRKNF /$PNG.V Nothing is priced in. Not the Covelya merger, not the Nasdaq listing. You can get it cheap today, or super expensive in half a year.

Deep Sea Mining Primer Part 2 Spoiler Alert: Deep Sea Mining is very likely the lowest environmental impact mining on the planet! We go beyond the headlines and into the real environmental, ethical and geopolitical debate surrounding the ocean floor. We examine the environmental concerns around deep-sea mining, how they compare to existing terrestrial mining impacts, whether current proposals can operate within robust international frameworks, and why the debate increasingly sits at the centre of energy security, industrial policy and the future of the global commons. This is not a simple story of “good” versus “bad.” It is a story about trade-offs, physical reality, and the growing collision between modern civilisation’s material demands and the limits of the systems that supply them. #DeepSeaMining #CriticalMinerals #MineralImperative #EnergyTransition #Mining #Nickel #Copper #Cobalt #RareEarths #BatteryMetals #IndustrialPolicy #Geopolitics #OceanScience #EnergySecurity #NetZero #AIInfrastructure #FutureOfEnergy #ResourceSecurity #CriticalMineralsHub open.substack.com/pub/amanda…

Deep-sea mining may become one of the defining resource debates of the 21st century. Beneath 4,000–6,000 metres of Pacific Ocean sit vast polymetallic nodule fields containing billions of tonnes of manganese and hundreds of millions of tonnes of nickel, copper and cobalt — metals essential for electrification, AI infrastructure, defence systems and the modern industrial economy. Meanwhile, ore grades on land are falling, mines are becoming larger and more environmentally intensive, and supply chains are increasingly concentrated in a handful of countries. So the real question is no longer whether we need more mining. It is where that mining happens. Part I of my new deep-sea mining primer explores: • What deep-sea mining actually is • The different types of seabed mineral deposits • The history of exploration in the deep ocean • Why the Clarion–Clipperton Zone matters • The geopolitical battle over regulation and control • Why countries like China, Japan and the US are moving aggressively into the sector • And why the debate is fundamentally about the future of critical mineral supply chains Tomorrow in Part II, I’ll tackle the environmental debate directly: • The reality of abyssal ecosystems • Sediment plumes and biodiversity concerns • How deep-sea mining compares to terrestrial mining impacts • What we already do to the oceans today • Whether deep-sea mining could meet global environmental standards • And the broader moral argument from a mineral-imperative perspective Because this debate is no longer theoretical. It sits at the intersection of energy, industrial policy, geopolitics, environment and the future material foundations of civilisation itself. @TheOregonGroup @themetalsco @EdZamanillo #DeepSeaMining #CriticalMinerals #Mining #EnergyTransition #Nickel #Copper #Cobalt #RareEarths #Geopolitics #EnergySecurity #MineralImperative open.substack.com/pub/amanda…

You know this story is myth right? haha, who cares what "homer" (if that even was his/her/their name) decided what color hair the character has lol. Not based on facts, each writer has creative license when following a fictitious story. If it were history, we could talk
