Having more guns doesn't necessarily make communities safer, but it also doesn't necessarily make communities less safe either.
Same goes for gun bans, they also have been shown to not necessarily make a meaningful difference either way.
@Dicky_Paul_95 has done a ton of the hard work for you regarding the research and studies showing this, and presented it for you and your peers on many occasions, in clear and concise manners and full citations. (And most of those sources have, at least at one point, been recognized as valid by your peers in Canada's anti-gun activist groups).
Research and studies into this have indicated time and time again that lisencing and storage laws are helpful, broad gun bans are not. It matters who has access to guns, not so much what guns people have access to.
