This Supporting Male Victims of Abuse Day, I stand with male victims. Men face specific challenges accessing support, and many struggle to get the help they need, which is why we need gender-informed services for men. Remember, #MenYouAreNotAlone mensadviceline.org.uk/

There are yellow heat health alerts for England this week... ⚠️ ☀️ So, we wanted to share some advice about keeping you and your loved one with #dementia safe in the hot weather. What tips would you add? Let us know in the comments. 👇

ALT lides one, three, five and seven have a blue background with white text on a pink background. The other slides have a pink background and white text. Text reads: How to stay comfortable in the heat...Some people with dementia may not dress appropriately for the heat. If possible, put out cool clothes for them to wear. Try not to spend too much time in the sun and always use suncream when outside. Stay inside from 11am-3pm, or find a cool shaded area. Have plenty of fluids and try to avoid alcohol and caffeine which can increase dehydration. Consider eating foods which have a high water content, such as ice lollies or cucumbers. Close light-coloured curtains during the day to keep the room cooler than outside. Use a hand-held or electric fan to help reduce the risk of overheating.
