An all-time pitching performance by Jacob Misiorowski. He threw a one-hit Maddux and punched 15. The most in a >99-pitch shutout before was Tarik Skubal's 13. This is Miz finding out in real time what he can be. The velocity is mind-bending. All of it is.
I figured out how to post video. I forgot how to use the greater-than and less-than sign. What I meant was: under 100 pitches. Misiorowski did it in 95. The efficiency -- 74 strikes -- and the sheer dominance of it all. It doesn't matter who it was. No one is hitting that.

Outfield prospect Luis Lara and the Milwaukee Brewers are in agreement on a seven-year, $31 million contract extension that includes three club options, sources tell ESPN. Lara, 21, has dominated Triple-A this season. Deal maxes out at $79 million.

Don't step on the foul line. Don't ever talk about a no-hitter. Eat chicken every day. Break up a slump with a golden thong. Wear a rally cap. Brush your teeth between innings.
Sports is full of superstitions -- and none more so than baseball. So we talked with the king of 'em.
Here is the full Superstition Episode, with incredible stories from Turk Wendell, who chewed black licorice, brushed his teeth mid-inning, leapt over the line, spiked rosin bags and wore No. 99 — and was way ahead of his time in a routine-obsessed game: youtube.com/watch?v=vY0_YZUu…
Tarik Skubal underwent elbow surgery May 6.
One month and one day later, he threw five scoreless innings on 54 pitches and punched out six at High-A.
Maybe Skubal is just that guy, but if nanoscope technology halves the return time from bone-chip injuries, what an advancement.
Detroit ace Tarik Skubal will undergo surgery to remove loose bodies in his left elbow. Such procedures typically sideline players for 2-3 months. Skubal should return before season's end, but a tough blow for the impending free agent and two-time reigning AL Cy Young winner.
Aaron Judge has been diagnosed with a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side, the Yankees announced.
He will be reimaged in approximately four to six weeks.
"Judge is expected to return at some point this season."
