There is no reason to not be that guy who always encourages people when it makes sense. As long as it is genuine, do it. Someone hints at wanting to start making content, or pursue some skill, or do this or that. If you think it fits them, TELL THEM. You never know how far a little encouragement can go.

There are two types of people: those who are pursuing their dreams and those who are not. Their languages are mutually unintelligible.

Wild thought but maybe just because you disagree with something doesn’t mean it is a threat to democracy?

Paying attention to the political news cycle and not being a student of history is like reading the last page of a novel and thinking you understand the story.

It is so worth investing in a premium gym. The current one I go to in Austin always has me inspired. There are so many people going hard as hell. And it has been an easy way to make friends with great people. Sure, you can save money by going to cheap commercial gyms but you might be missing out on valuable motivation and fun relationships. If you spend a lot of time working out it’s probably worth whatever extra money you pay.

Tell me what comes to your mind when you read this quote by journalist/historian Paul Johnson: “The study of history is a powerful antidote to contemporary arrogance. It is humbling to discover how many of our glib assumptions, which seem to us novel and plausible, have been tested before, not once but many times and in innumerable guises; and discovered to be, at great human cost, wholly false.”

The first time I read Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl, it completely changed my outlook on life. It reshaped the way I saw every so-called “problem.” The horrors Frankl endured gave me an almost panicked sense of gratitude. It’s about perspective. The harsh reality is that it’s easy to gain perspectives that can shock you like this. It could always be worse.
