We are glad to be engaging in this event and conversations of integrating caregivers as essential care partners.
My Nana gifted me her meditation book before she passed away. I came across it last week, at just the right time.
Wishing you all the best for 2024…be gentle with yourself and take one day at a time.
I’m enjoying a day off. Husband and kids are at work. Finally got the dogs to settle down (faux spring fever!?!) and I’m making shortbread and listening to Kenny and Dolly’s Once Upon a Christmas. I really should listen to this album all year long!
I shared a poem last week that I love. I’m sharing again as I keep thinking of it and thinking of @DrNadiaChaudhri who shared so much with the world. And though I’d never met her in real life, I find myself thinking of her and her gift of a reminder to look for joy in all things.
Since the beginning of time (for me) my Grandma always made an extra Halloween effort. When I was a kid she made homemade candy and had treat bags made up for all the kids around Ravenna. She took photos of every group that stopped by the house. Every year!
When she moved to the retirement home she helped give out candy there and always dressed up for pictures with her great grandchildren! I’ve missed stopping by to see her the last few years.
Ps. If you’re from Ravenna I’ll get through those pics someday and get them to you.
17 wanted to drive me to the grocery store. We picked up a few things and she drove home. I channeled my inner teenager, got out of the car and went straight into the house. She’s like ‘wait, what about the groceries!?’ 😝
Very proud of Paige Cornell for receiving the OPP Commissioner’s Citation for Bravery. ‘The citation for bravery recognizes recipients who exhibited extraordinary acts of courage in a situation of extreme or personal hazard’
I met a friend for lunch yesterday. We had a great time catching up. A highlight was overhearing the waitress tell two seniors that another table paid their bill. They were so tickled. And I was reminded of all the kindness still in the world. Thank you to that thoughtful group.
