Just finished reading the final book in @DavidFarrUK wonderful trilogy 'The Book of Stolen Dreams' with my 11 year old son, Isaac. What a journey of emotions he went through! His final words were "this needs to be a film!" I fully agree.

As a parent and a history teacher, I also found the story and it's characters an interesting gateway into discussing both historical and current world events with a pre-teen.

If any teachers out there have a set or a few of these textbooks at the back of a cupboard and would be willing to sell, please let me know. We need a few more for September and have no budget so can't really afford new. Thanks! #historyteacher

Made it to 74 books this year. A good year for reading! Winding up my use of this site though so trying out a paper reading journal for 2025 instead. Will post particularly good reads on blue sky.
My 2024 read book list. I love looking back at the end of the year to see my reading achievement. Makes me feel better about the growing tbr pile πŸ™ˆ 2022 - 55 books 2023 - 56 books 2024....here we go!

#73 A Midwinter murder by Verity Bright. Loved this story, didn't guess the murderer. Particularly liked more of the personal story around the main characters. 4.5/5.

#74 Everyone on this train is a suspect by Benjamin Stevenson. A standalone novel but might have been better if I'd read his first novel. Slow start but ended up being a really good murder mystery. 3.5/5

Isaac (age 10) has described 'The Book of Stolen Dreams' by @DavidFarrUK to be one of his favourites ever! This is a big deal as we read A LOT of books! He is very much hoping that he finds the Secret of the Blood Red Key in his stocking at Xmas!
