Merging hackSheffield with Comp Soc is something I had considered proposing for a couple years now, but it’s sad that it’s something we’ve been forced to do due to lack of committee interest. I can’t thank the society enough for all the opportunities and friends it led me to.

Trans men in the UK right now are in trouble as the UK LITERALLY has no surgeons doing lower surgery currently.
Trans men right now literally cannot get a particular medical treatment in this country.
This is a thing the UK LGBT community needs to be aware of and vocal about.

The hackSheffield twitter received one of the usual “promote us for free” messages. They’re running some sort of tournament. But like... do they KNOW that unicode is already a thing? I spent 5 minutes looking at their profile like “why does an encoding standard have sponsors?”
