I didn't even realize it at first, but when I went to Tweetdeck today it redirected me. I don't think I've ever been on a website that worked this actively and dramatically to destroy my use of it.
@X is a joke.
What I'd like: Threads to put an end to Twitter as we know it.
What's likely to happen: Another fragmentation of audiences furthering an us vs. them mentality.
I think so much of Twitter is screenshotting a tweet and posting it on Instagram. Essentially Threads removes the middle man. For that reason alone it’ll have staying power. At least in the first 5 hours I’ve enjoyed it more than I have Twitter the last 5 months.
jokes aside, what we're seeing happen right now is exactly the reason i am so passionate about the fact that marketing/advertising in social is just as—if not more—difficult than and specialized as broadcast media
And with the launch of Instagram’s Threads, I may be done with Twitter very soon. After only a few minutes it was a seamless onboarding, and I can directly share posts into my IG stories/feed. Follow me there: threads.net/@jennpedde
I’m 3 episodes into “Age of Influence” on Hulu, and am proud of my decisions on who I follow online. Especially since I have yet to know who any of these people are. Not a great series though.
Me before #WWDC: Eh, VR product? Can't imagine wanting it.
Me two hours later: Ok, but like, how much is this thing I didn't want that I now want going to cost me??
Yesterday I had the option to go to @Target or another store. Normally it'd be a no brainer to stop off at Target. Given their response this week to removing Pride items, I chose not to spend my money there. So wildly disappointed in their rainbow washing and weak positioning.
These are the kinds of studies I like to see following big events like Musk taking over Twitter. Absolutely no surprise that the app has seen a significant decline since last year.

Downloaded the ChatGPT iPhone app. It's the most barren app. Don't even really know what to do with it. It could have used some design, suggestions, creative use ideas. Wonder what the drop off in usage will be...
One of the nice things about the writer's strike is that I just cancelled most (but not all) of my streaming subscription services to save a bit of cash while there's no new episodes of things I watch. #Givethewriterswhattheywant
Following years of drought, parts of California are seeing colorful "superblooms" or explosions of flowers.
But that growth will dry out, transforming plants into fire kindling 🧵 bloom.bg/41gxg9N
