A year ago, I didnโt know Unreal Engine.
I wasnโt a VR developer.
I didnโt have a framework.
I didnโt have a roadmap.
What I had was a vision for immersive music and worldsโand the willingness to learn something completely foreign from the ground up.
Over the last year, I taught myself Unreal Engine: learning how real-time environments work, how VR interaction works, how media playback functions inside a game engine, how to design interfaces for headsets, how to debug, optimize, and build something stable enough to ship commercially.
There were nights nothing worked and I had to choose between quittingโor understanding the problem better.
Today, all of that led to this:
I officially submitted FunkWave VR Player to the Meta Horizon Store!
FunkWave VR Player is a premium VR media application built to showcase curated FunkWave Universe contentโimmersive visualizers, music, and cinematic VR experiencesโinside a custom player designed specifically for VR.
Somewhere along the way, everything came full circleโmy computer science foundation and years of corporate problem-solving quietly showing up when it mattered most.
This submission isnโt just about an app.
I spent the last year manifesting a new version of myself.
Whatever happens next, the work is already done.
On to the next wave.
