I love the spirit of this post.
My key takeaway: Activism done well, like allyship, requires meaningful action.
That said, I don’t support arguing online, nor justifying it with having done good first.
New rule!
Before you’re allowed to argue with anyone online about the “spilled blood” of your tribe, you need to go spill some blood of your own.
Go donate blood, money, or time for your fellow human.
Mindlessly watching, reading, or scrolling the news without actually doing anything is not activism, it’s a waste of time.
Your job is not to “educate” your ideological opponents, it’s to take care of each other.
First give, help someone, anyone! Turn down the temperature and the volume.
