While inflation has breached 4%, 60% of the rise has been driven by energy prices. Core prices that exclude the runup in energy & food prices have not jumped to that extent, showing that higher energy is not yet bleeding into core prices. That keeps the Fed on hold w no hikes now

All around great jobs report-this puts full attn on inflation &keeps the Fed on hold w/ hawks maybe eyeing hikes later this year. Wage growth at 3.4% isn't keeping pace w inflation. Notice leisure&hospitality had more job gains than healthcare-1st any sector has done that in 1yr
