The sport of baseball is predicated on pitchers attempting to get hitters out. Any time a position player takes the mound and is throwing lob balls is an insult to the sport and any team that does it should be embarrassed and ashamed.

So Giants are sitting Bryce Eldridge against a Dodgers' RHP with a 1-3 record and 5.97 ERA . . . what exactly was the point of bringing him up? Casey Schmitt can play 2B, 3B and even SS if necessary. Devers can DH. And no way Vitello does this without Buster knowing about it.

Giants worst moment tonight wasn't anything that happened on the field. It was when they went to the bullpen and bullpen coach Jesse Chavez and at least one reliever were waving frantically because they had zero idea who was pitching next. Turns bad loss into a clown show.
