Preparing myself for my home to be without power, moving forward. The leak from the third floor bathroom did some serious damage to the wiring throughout the house and it’s too dangerous to leave it on. This has been a nightmare, but educational experience. 😮‍💨

“But, Jessie, if they’re at fault, they can’t do that! Report it!” I have, a couple times, but again, LAHD moves at their discretion. So, I just prepare, wait and sit out the storm.

“Have you called your council member? Talked to a Housing Deputy?” Yes, and they are not returning my calls. “What about the Mayors office?” I talked to a rep who heard the entire story, then passed on my info. A rep called me back, she thought my case was about addiction.😭

Day seven of not being able to lock my house lock, because my landlord wiped my key code. Good times. 🥸

Hey, ya’ll, reaching out for emergency aid. My landlords disabled my entry lock, preventing me to able to leave and secure my housing while away. I’m trying to raise funds to help me and the kitties stay safely inside, until I can figure this out. 🙏🏾 gofund.me/3f5dcb0b8

Now that the unlawful detainer is pretty much wrapped, I now have to go back through twenty months of history and write out the harassment timeline. In summary, it was twenty months of psychological warfare.

Now that my court documents have been officially filed, I can talk about. You want to know how my landlords are trying to evict me? Well, many ways, but ultimately, they never registered my unit and put the eviction under a different address. Yup.

One more late night of legal work and then the rest can be at a more relaxed pace. I can’t wait to share with you everything I have learned in this process. Life is TRULY stranger than fiction.

What I will say, ultimately, I never should have been taken through this entire process and endured everything that occurred over the past 20 months, specifically the last five months. All of it is absolute, bullshit.

This housing drama, navigating it representing yourself is no fucking joke. That is all.

… I don’t know how to explain it, but it feels like I’m back on the “right timeline,” spiritually and symbolically. These past ten months have felt like I was in a universe I was not supposed to be in and trying to escape. Now, it feels like I just landed on familiar ground?

I think I just prevented a house fire? I was in my living room, kept hearing this ticking sound and traced it to the ceiling fan. The unit was warm, even though it had been off for a month. Found the correct switch in the breaker, but it also took out 2 outlets in my room. 😭
