I’m no economist, but Netflix lost $18 billion in value yesterday, enough to fund every ask the writers and actors made for 36 years

Netflix stock is down because of its underwhelming earnings report. The $18B change in stock value could not have been realized by the company to pay the writers as it is independent of the company’s financials.

Smaller studios or studios without streaming services will start to peel off and make their own deals. The remaining companies will begin fighting with each other. Eventually they will be forced to cave when their quarterly earnings reports enrage the shareholders.
