📜New paper from my PhD📜 doi.org/10.1111/papt.12443 One third of people with psychosis are a parent, however family research in psychosis focuses on families of origin. We aimed to investigate how an episode of psychosis in a parent is experienced by the parent and their family.

We found that psychosis impacted the whole family, especially when parents were separated from their children. The secrecy that existed around psychosis left children worried and confused. We need to support these families to communicate about any mental health difficulties.
