I was nervous to post this on LinkedIn because I tend to keep my faith life and my professional life separate, but this is too important not to share!

I see some of the funniest content managing a social media account. Sometimes I have to remember I’m not on my own platforms so I can’t “like” stuff.
January 1, 2023.
I didn’t make it to church today.
Didn’t make it to the gym.
Barely got dressed.
Ordered carry-out wings, fries & a half and half.
My brain is ransacked with guilt and condemnation.
This is how my new year is starting.
This is mental illness.
I just thought of this analogy.
Having a mental illness is like being physically sick every day, but you cope/hide well enough to function. When, if you had the means to, you would take a “sick day” every day because you legitimately need it.
EVERY SINGLE DAY. No days off.
What’s helping me in this moment is realizing that most of my days last year felt like this, yet I somehow ended the year with so many “wins.”
It’s a daily fight. But when I choose to move the needle a little bit forward, God works miracles. He does MUCH with my LITTLE.
I’m in awe of God’s goodness and faithfulness.
I just won my third grant this year, which means I secured 6 figures in funding for my business, The Mental Health Emergency Fund 🤎 $105,000 to be exact! 🙌🏾
I haven’t written a business plan for all of this, yet. But I didn’t need one. I’ve just been steadily moving.
I’m so grateful to everyone who has helped me get where I am. Every forwarded email. Every vote. Every encouraging comment. Every prayer. Every donation.
2023 is gonna be bananas!
I’ll be running 3 projects concurrently. Send up a prayer for my strength! 🙏🏾
