Here’s a short story about free mulch. And I’m out of breath from lugging and spreading it in this 85% humidity. Even though the temperature is low, the mugginess is high. Soooooo, five or six years ago there was a tree trimming company cutting and mulching all the forest overgrowth crowding out the power poles and lines along the road. I ran outside to ask if they’d sell me the mulch. Well, they gave it to me cause it meant they didn’t have to lug back to their yard and saved them both time and money. After their work was done they unloaded a near dump truck load of it in a low area of the road going into our garden. This is the last of that mulch.

With roughly three months to grow everything you can in Canada, you must work your but off to plant it all into the ground in about six weeks. 1. Sweet millions, snow cherry and persimmon tomato babies 2. Head Lettuce, Mixed lettuce 3. Baby beets in first row, kale babies, zucchini babies

Throwback Thursday 📸 This is my younger brother and I from the mid 1970’s and very early 1980’s. We are still great friends today. And the QP is of us from the early 2000’s. Family is life.
Share an old photo of yourself 📸 This is my younger brother and I during the Summer of 2004. I had flown home for a visit to Saint John from Vancouver and went out drinking with him, his girlfriend who is snapping the picture and their friends. This seems like a lifetime ago to me.

QP or Share a picture 📸 💚of your garden wear hacks. This older faded cotton linen blend shirt of my man’s is what I’m wearing today along with a pair of vintage workboots that belonged to my mom. It’s an overcast day outside although it’s quite humid.
