Another fun day of building DNA molecules! A simple activity that allowed students to visualize the shape of DNA, the base pairing rules, and the sugar-phosphate backbone. #Science #TeacherTuesday

Nothing better than having a beautiful bouquet of flowers to add to my view while I work from home! Grateful to work with such passionate school leaders who truly appreciate their school faculty and staff!
Admin wanted to take a moment to recognize our office staff, Ms. Batten and Ms. Ford, and our admin interns, @JessicaGateau and @SHSMrsGum, for all of the hard work they have put in preparing for our students to return!

A7: #edtechchat I think remote learning has (I hope) generated a bit more independence and sufficiency in our littles. I think when we return, we can expect these things and more from them when using tech in the classroom.
3
A6: #edtechchat I think it depends on the type of student - Ss who tend to be more independent flourished during remote learning using tech. However, Ss who tend to be bit more needy probably had a hit to their confidence during this time.

A4: #edtechchat - I think allowing students voice and choice when using tech as well as giving them the opportunity to provide YOU (the teacher) with feedback and suggestions for future tech tools. Don't underestimate what Ss know about tech!
4
A3: #edtechchat - I think it helps to use a variety of tech tools to keep their minds engaged but also helps to keep some tech tools consistent to boost confidence. I am a fan of gizmos, quizizz, classkick, edpuzzle and all things google.

A2: #edtechchat - I'm at the high school level - a technical skill I would expect my students to learn is how to troubleshoot and problem-solve technology issues on their own - especially with the potential of being somewhat virtual next year.
A1 - #edtechchat - before covid, tech in the classroom was a great resource but was also supplemented by many other things to promote student learning. I was able to try new/different things- but was also there to troubleshoot with them.

A9 - #oklaed - @OfficialSHSPack has the greatest students and teachers around! I am so lucky to be part of such a wonderful school community!

A8: #oklaed I am excited to (hopefully) get back into the school building and see my co-workers and students! I didn't get a proper goodbye with my spring students - so I look forward to seeing them next year! Also excited for a new set of Ss!

Q7: #oklaed Exercise has always been an outlet for me. Playing basketball (which I can't really do right now) was always a great distractor. Also - having people to vent to and know what your going through can be such a powerful thing!
3
Q6: #oklaed Our school sent out an "inclusive school environment for all" statement to all students, families, and staff. I think it is important to make sure that all students feel welcome and valued! Making sure their voices are heard is important too!

A5 - #oklaed I think there will need to be some form of realignment with the curriculums and pacing guides to make up what students missed in the spring.
