Hey y'all, sorry I've been MIA for a while. Still trying to figure out how I feel about social media (this god-forsaken platform in particular, although they all suck). I'm still around, just enjoying the simple joys in life and working. Find me if you need me in the meantime.

We were in Mexico City for a few days, and got to see the women’s March. It was awesome. Here are a few of my favorite shots/posters.

Oh hell yeah I'm hyped. The best part of this show is that it's good all on its own. No need to watch a bunch of other (mostly mediocre, sadly) Disney SW shows and movies to enjoy it. buff.ly/4hRBuwC

I got sidelined by norovirus for a solid week so falling behind, but I've been really enjoying this while getting into the flow state for taxes. Started working through Rolling Stone's best albums too.
One of my resolutions this year is to listen to new music. Goal is 365 new albums. What albums should I add to my list? Whatever you've got, throw it at me. Trying to expand my horizons!

Falling a little short this week but it was a quality week. What should I listen to next?

We all know about Project 2025’s target on the adult industry. While I don’t know what will come to pass, here are some things you should do now to financially protect yourself: Take inventory. Write down how much you have in savings. Take stock of your loans and credit cards. Put together your living expenses. Paper, app, spreadsheet - doesn’t matter, just put it all together. Start saving. Be prepared if your business income is threatened. Aim for six to twelve months of living expenses in savings. If this feels daunting, do what you can. What you save now will help you no matter what comes. Separate bank accounts. I tell all my clients to have a separate account for their business. All earnings should go directly into this account. Your living expenses should be with a different bank. Bank account closures are a real issue for SWers and this will likely get worse. Don’t tie your work to your personal account in case it happens to you. Stay informed. Follow accounts like @xbiz and @myadultattorney for important legislative news. Donate. We need to keep fighting. Support organizations like the @ACLU and @FSCArmy and make your voice heard.

My husband bought me this dinosaur blanket yesterday (I was having a rough day, he’s the best). Daisy wants it *so badly*.

I've been scared to post this week because it would mean admitting that I've never listened to Tidal by Fiona Apple in full, which tbh should be a crime. So good!

I’m taking on one or two ongoing clients before tax season. Ongoing financial planning includes: ★ Quarterly meetings covering all your financial bases ★ Year-round tax planning ( filing at competitive price) ★ The comfort of knowing you’ve got your financial life in order buff.ly/4hsfhoz

Tax forms are rolling in, and the filing season begins at the end of the month. Here's a quick guide of common tax forms for SWers: 📃 1099-NEC: Issued by platforms showing your earnings after any platform fees 📃 1099-K: Shows all payments collected via third-party payment processors (CashApp, Stripe, etc). Required for over $5k, but may get issued for less 📃 W2: for any jobs you had during the year where you were considered an employee 📃 1095-A: You'll get this if you had healthcare from your state marketplace (very important to include this on your taxes) 📃 1099-INT: Reports interest you earned from savings accounts (usually only issued if more than $10)

I'm reading Justice Brown's Jackson autobiography right now (very good, if you haven't read it). This line from her mother hit me deeply: "To dwell on the unfairness of life is to be devoured by it." Today, I'll focus on doing good where I can. Each day, choosing not to dwell but to take action.

My guess? The boomer guy watching TikTok videos in the breast center imaging waiting center with no headphones is probably going to be upset about the upcoming ban. One video said “You know what I’d do? I’d f*ck her in the p*ssy.” So I’ve got that going for me as I head into my boob check.

A little behind this week. Definitely ran with a punk/alt vibe. I think my favorite was Japanese Breakfast. Biggest surprise was Butthole Surfers - what a weird but killer album.

Just because you wrote something off on your taxes in the past with no issues, it doesn’t mean it was an allowed deduction. I see lots of very bad advice out there followed with “I did it before and the IRS didn’t say anything.” No, they just haven’t audited you yet.
