What about hackle? We get our hackles up, don't we? Or too busy playing with beachballs (also not allowed)? #Nytspellingbee
I need to write some scenes with big, miserable feelings. Anyone want to give me some songs for a misery playlist? Along the lines of "Why" by Annie Lennox, or almost any Annie Lennox, really.

Want to stick it to Amazon on Prime Day? (Or, as I think of it, Horde Prime Day)? Buy books through bookshop.org. I'm sure you have some you want to read!

Really enjoying the Dear Intern thread. Those mess-up moments that glaze your entire body with fear--more people have cause for them than I think. And survive!

Happy Pride! Parents let's celebrate with collective gender equity and, in a mom-dad family, include BOTH parents on correspondence about school events and social gatherings. Dads want to know! Or if they don't, they should know the labor behind the scenes!
Really appreciated this article about how free tuition to community college is a start--but new and minoritized college students need personalized support to make it to graduation. Hoping it gets a wide read! nytimes.com/2021/05/25/opini…
I worked HARD for that money this week. Now off to outdoor dinner with friends--for the first time in a year!

To quote my friend Royce Conner, maybe this is the day that 2020 ended.
In the way of things, my daughter has to add Biography to her indep. reading list. So I've been scrolling through the libe catalogue, hearing in my head, "Who was Clara Barton?" "Who Was Sitting Bull?" "Who Was Winston Churchill?" Suspect I'll want to know more than she does...
Proud to have created curriculum, along with @juliaerin80, for Ken Burns's "Hemingway," which invite students to grapple with the author's many complexities. A favorite of my lessons here, along with the NY Times review: pbslearningmedia.org/resourc… nytimes.com/2021/04/02/arts/…

More wisdom from my 6yo: "You want to know why I don't want to be immortal? Because then people would want to stab me and stuff." #truth

Dear edutwitter, I just realized I can take a screenshot from a doc and paste it into Jamboard so I can use my own desired formatting. Feeling like a Jamboard PRO.
When you need to read Pachinko for your book club but you're dying to finish Circe. (So many books....etc.)
