Four years ago 50% of our students were chronically absent. Today we celebrated 79 students having PERFECT attendance the first quarter, and an additional 120 students with over 95% attendance! @kckschools @MsAFSutherland @JessicaSprick @DrJWilson1906 @Mstewart_2u #bettereveryday

“Our goal is that 100% of students are successful, and our system should be designed to catch kids in multiple ways so they can thrive. Can 80-90% of our students do so with existing schoolwide supports?” @JessicaSprick @doc_nuge @AtchisonPublic #WeAre409

This is so important. When kids are tired (when any of us are tired), learning is harder, self-regulation is harder, and on and on. One way to make sleep more likely--devices need to stay out of kids'/teens' bedrooms during sleep hours.
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends teenagers ages 13 to 18 get at least eight to 10 hours of sleep per night, but researchers found more than 76 percent of students in that age group averaged four to seven hours of sleep a night. edweek.org/leadership/one-wa…

Wow! What an excellent day with @tbergPBIS and @JessicaSprick 🤩 I’m so glad I stepped outside my math box to learn more about behavior. I wish I would’ve had these tools when I was still in the classroom! #CEC2023 #SafeandCivilSchools
