This week we hosted a delegation from the University of Mosul @cl_uomas part of their visit to @niassembly.
Around one million books and rare manuscripts from the library were burnt when ISIS were in control of the city (June 2014- January 2017)

Well the 'how do you arrange your bookshelves' question on #TheRestIsEntertainment has caused uproar. Thanks for all the photos, and I'm glad that my solution of sorting books by size seems to be more popular than @MarinaHyde's arcane system. Do keep sending us your photos! Etymology of the day is 'on tenterhooks' (not 'tenderhooks'): tenters, once a common sight, are wooden frames on which freshly milled cloth is stretched so that it dries without shrinking. To be on tenterhooks is to be as tense and taut as the cloth itself.
