The Jiang lab is recruiting postdocs in cryo-EM studies of amyloids, virus/host interactions, and protein complexes relevant to cancers. More details can be found at tinyurl.com/2s7ps95s
We've developed "maskChains" a tool that neatly masks map density around your protein model chains of interest (available in the ChimeraX Toolshed). maskChains is particularly useful for amyloids as it retains extra densities in the layer of the specified chains. Give it a try!
How much protein and ligand are needed to ensure >90% binding? We have developed a Web app (jiang.bio.purdue.edu/softwar…) to show how the fraction of binding is related to binding affinity, protein and ligand concentration, not just protein:ligand molar ratio
Thanks to NSF REU student @_bongaby, our protein/ligand binding web app now supports the binding of one ligand to multiple proteins, helping you understand off-target binding of drugs. jiang.bio.purdue.edu/multi-b…
The Jiang lab at Purdue University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team and work on cryo-EM structural studies of amyloids in neurodegenerative diseases. tinyurl.com/yz86nmer
@ACAxtal Workshop-5:
@JiangLabCryoEM showed how CryoVR virtual reality training tools help familiarize users with #cryoEM equipment through a safe and accessible virtual environment. All the training modules demonstrated today are available to download.

Proud to share the first major work from my PhD with @JiangLabCryoEM. We used cryoEM to determine the atomic structures of the first human brain-derived prion protein filaments from Gerstmann–Sträussler–Scheinker disease. link.springer.com/article/10…
Work by our recent PhD graduate Dr. Brenda González (@brenda_agenda) on the structural studies of the Phage G tail is out! This paper describes the contracted and non-contracted states of the Phage G tail sheath. mdpi.com/1999-4915/13/10/209…
