I delay my support for north loop removal for a calendar year every time someone posts this picture.

I know this has been posted a thousand times but I want you to really zoom in and look at the top photo. The ornate facades, the crowds on the sidewalks, the pleasant mid-rise density. If this street were still around today people would find Kansas City downright picturesque

Looks like him. Apparently he raised almost $20K for a family, hasn’t sent the money and stopped communicating.

There it is, a "public-private partnership"! The way public-private stadium partnerships work is the public partner pays the cost and the private partner keeps the revenue. It's impossible to devote $1.8 billion of public resources without having an impact on the state budget.
Big wins don’t have to come with big tax hikes. This historic public-private partnership brings the Chiefs to Kansas with no new state taxes for Kansans and no impact on the current state budget—all while generating more than $4B in economic impact.

The death of Brigitte Bardot necessitated the update of this marvelous chart. Only three people mentioned in Billy Joel's banger "We Didn't Start The Fire" are still alive. Source: reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful…

It’s propaganda for those watching the videos.
why do soldiers always wear their uniforms in those obviously staged "surprise I'm home" videos? do they think their kids won't believe their real jobs?

You gotta be 12 yrs old to think this. There's about 300 "cities" in the United States.

There are about ~10 real cities in the US, imo: - NYC - Boston - Philly - Chicago - DC - Baltimore - San Fran - Seattle - Miami - Denver

This is a really good point except we (Missourians) will also be paying a little when we shop at Legends, etc.

The bizarre thing about this deal is much of the benefit of having the Chiefs stay in the KC area will seep across state lines to Missouri, where most of the metro population lives, while Kansas taxpayers assume all of the costs.

Wyandotte County neighborhoods would be wise to form a coalition and demand a 350 million dollar community benefits agreement

Wyandotte County residents learned a new neighbor is set to move in when the Chiefs open their new stadium in 2031. Reporter Fernanda Silva heard from residents who hope to have some questions answered between now and then. Read: ā¬‡ļø kshb.com/news/local-news/wya…

This guy wants to end income tax here *after* learning that his capital gains tax cut to benefit his rich buddies cost Missouri half a BILLION dollars! How does Florida help cover their losses from eliminating income tax? Oh yeah, tourism! And he just fumbled the football team!
The State of Missouri is the best home for the Kansas City Chiefs. State leaders did our part in putting together an attractive and competitive package that was a good deal for Missouri taxpayers and for the Chiefs. Missouri’s incentives would have empowered the Chiefs organization to grow and invest in the unparalleled Arrowhead experience, creating a true legacy stadium for the next generation. Unfortunately, team ownership has decided to abandon Lamar Hunt’s legacy at the iconic Arrowhead Stadium, a place that Chiefs fans have rallied around since 1972. At Arrowhead, every game feels like a Super Bowl. No new stadium will replicate that. I join Chiefs Kingdom in expressing my strong disappointment with this decision.

I say that MO's counterstike in the border war should be to steal IKEA. That way, I'll never have to drive to KS for any reason

The reason the Chiefs offered nothing in exchange for the sales tax vote is because this was their plan all along, long before the vote: to fleece Kansas taxpayers instead.

It's pathetic to watch grown adults so willingly give up their dignity, all for the hope of gaining access to the perks that come with sucking up to a pro sports team owner.
Jackson County Executive Phil LeVota sent letters to Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and team president Mark Donovan in what could be a last-ditch effort to keep the team in Missouri. fox4kc.com/sports/chiefs/lev…

I was at a bar last night called "The Brick". Ever heard of it? It's in a neighborhood that I'm told is a failed, hollowed out ghost town called "Crossroads". Funny thing though it looked busy there! I had to park 3 blocks away. Small businesses everywhere.

They had a chance to tear it all down and put a baseball stadium there instead but they turned it down, which I'm also told by "Kansas Citians"[CITATION NEEDED] was their ultimate demise and why they are failures. Funny though...seemed like a thriving place 🤷
