šŸ”¬The authors of this new paper present a Simplex-based Model (SBM) for identifying the structure of nanoparticles, in terms of their crystal grains’ configuration and geometry and the diffraction patterns (DPs) of the grains, using 4D-STEM datasets.

The algorithm recovers both the DPs and the nanoparticle composition more accurately than traditional segmentation methods when grains overlap extensively. This method provides a robust and promising framework for characterizing complex crystalline structures at the nanoscale.
