I'm still getting belated birthday wishes, so I though it would only be appropriate to open a belated birthday whisky! This 30 y/o Talisker, bottled in 2010 at 57.3% will suffice. Surprisingly fresh for its age, with toffee, brine, peaty bonfire smoke, and a peppery finish.🥃

I couldn't decide which whisky to open on my birthday, so I did the only logical thing and opened both of them! The Macallan 25 year old Anniversary Malt, distilled in 1974 and bottled in 1999, and Lagavulin 21 year old sherry cask aged, distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2012. 🥃

Birthday week whisky celebration continues. Linkwood is such a delicious whisky, and so many people have never even heard of the distillery. The 37 year old, which was distilled in 1978 is a beauty. Definitely worthy of a birthay celebration so I opened it 🥃

Popping the top on another whisky to celebrate my upcoming birthday on Sunday. Tonight I’m going old school, opening my Dalmore 30 year old bottled quite a while ago. I’m glad I did. It’s worthy of a birthday celebration. Life is short. Make an ordinary day a special day. 🥃

Celebrating my birthday this coming Sunday by opening up a new bottle of something special every night. Starting with the Mount Gay Tricentennial Selection Rum bottled back in 2003. One of the best rums I've ever had. Life is short friends. Make every day special in your own way.

Last day of fishing before heading back to PA for some condo repairs. Yesterday‘s striper was for dinner. This one was just for fun. It’s actually too big to keep!! Just shy of 3 feet long. Back in the water to swim another day. Cheers friends!

The bad news: our AC died on us and needs to be replaced. The good news: I caught dinner!

In 2003, Mount Gay Rum celebrated their Tricentenary with this special release. I was writing about all spirits at the time, met with the brand manager, and we tasted it together. It was delicious! I bought a bottle. Time to open it. Still delicious. Cheers friends.

When you've got some special bottles of whisky that are running low, you invite a couple of whisky friends over to finish the bottles. We don't want them to oxidize now, do we? Cheers!

I don’t always drink a whisky distilled more than 70 years ago. This 1955 Talisker is fantastic! Life is short friends. Make an ordinary day a special day in your own way. 🥃

Saying goodbye to another very special whisky tonight. Highland Park single malt scotch, distilled in 1970 and bottled in 1995 for Gordon & MacPhail's Centenary. Polished, pristine, sherry cask kissed deliciousness. Worthy of G&M's Centenary.

As they say, all good things come to an end. Saying goodbye to the first release of William Heavenhill bourbon. Bottle 36 of only 225. Given to me and signed by my buddy Parker Beam. I miss you my friend. Your bourbon was very special, but you were even more special.

I decided to pull the trigger on this 15 yr old Pappy Van Winkle's bourbon, bottled in 2009. I've always felt the sweet spot of Pappy, on average, is the 15 year old, so I took the risk. And I was not disappointed. Some magical stuff right here. Impeccable balance.🥃

I often turn my older unopened whisky bottles on their side to make sure the cork doesn't dry out and that there's no leaking. I did that for this very special Laphroaig. The bad news: it was leaking a little bit. The good news: It gives me an excuse to open it and enjoy it. 🥃
