The one silver lining to this story is that he died sober, with serenity and peace, doing something he loved. He was well on his way to long-term sobriety. He took an advanced horseback riding lesson and had a terrible accident which he could not recover from. π

I just want you all to know that none of this stuff I enjoy in life today and flourish at would be possible without me getting sober. The cooking, baking, home decorating, plants, music performances, ability to afford clothes, self-care, social activities, NONE without sobriety.

I know this because I had NONE of that when I was using. I lost everything and did not even realize I had nothing left physically or emotionally until I realized I had to start from ground zero and get serious about sobriety, and actually living life. Itβs taken a lot!

I felt compelled to do one last decorating adjustment. I swapped the dining table rug for the bedroom rug. I think it works better.

My vision for decorative, wall-mounted candle holders has come true! I installed 4 - two in the hallway and two in the bedroom, they even have the glass holder to protect the flame! Though I will likely use LED candles most of the time and save the flame for special occasions.
