Expanding Pell - Expanding Options! This is good news for students and the workforce.
Workforce Pell was created in response to a simple truth: a great education and a better life do not necessarily require a four-year college degree. At @USDOL, we are proud to partner with @EDSecMcMahon and @usedgov to help students gain the skills they need to succeed in today’s workforce. 🇺🇸 ed.gov/about/news/press-rele…

Even after all his success, I still think @VGcom is one of the most underrated artists in my lifetime. To me, he’s in the top tier, not just in country, but in music! What’s your favorite Vince Gill song? @kyperformingart

On the separation of church and state… “(Thomas)Jefferson clearly did not mean that metaphorical “wall” was to keep religion from influencing issues of civil government. To the contrary, it was meant to keep the federal government from impeding the religious practice of citizens. The Founders wanted to protect the church from an encroaching state, not the other way around.” Thank you, @SpeakerJohnson

Fair, principled, and thought-provoking piece from my friend and former colleague @usedgov, @blew_jim. Worth a read, if you’re up for a little rethinking! Right on target, Jim!
An assistant secretary of education during President Trump's first administration is sharing why he believes many K-12 educators "might not even notice" should the U.S. Department of Education be dismantled. #EWOpinion edweek.org/policy-politics/o…

While I don’t think the Department will fully shutter, I do think there will be changes, and perhaps some significant ones. A good focus for a follow up article by @educationweek could be how such decisions would impact IDEA monitoring and federal oversight of other protections for which the Department is currently responsible.
