An A/B Honor Roll student in Dual Enrollment 🎓, he’s earned top honors, including 1st place at his school Science Fair and recognition as an AJ Terrell Scholar. As President of the National Honor Society and Command Sergeant Major in JROTC ⭐, John leads with discipline and excellence, while also gaining experience through programs like Project ENGAGES and Bridge to Employment at Georgia Tech. After dedicating 10 years as principal of Burgess-Peterson Academy in east Atlanta, David White stepped away from leadership and into retirement last year. But what many imagine as a time of rest quickly became something else; he found himself missing the daily connections, the energy of students, and the sense of purpose that came with being part of a school community. Determined to reconnect with what he loved most, White didn’t stay away for long. When the opportunity arose to return as the school’s site manager just eight months later, he embraced it wholeheartedly. Now, instead of leading from the front office, he supports the school in a new way, ensuring the campus runs smoothly while continuing to build meaningful relationships with students and staff.
