Surely now is the time for some radical changes to the way civil servants are paid. This would start with a zero cost change whereby pay was increased and pensions reduced. What kind of incentive system concentrates on giving you so much after you have retired ?
Darren Jones said this is "the biggest change to senior civil service pay in decades" civilserviceworld.com/news/a…

I went to the same nursery school as Wes Streeting and grew up on the housing estate opposite his. Here is a little thread on what the East End was like at that time. Take it as the East End equivalent of those Johnson / Cameron era Old Etonians explaining what Pop was like.

🚨 Continuing the consequences of research for 'Stanley Baldwin: Life After Downing Street'. ✍️🏻 Viscount Davidson wrote a memorandum for Neville Chamberlain, but did not send it, about 'Things to Remember' as Prime Minister. 🤔 Still relevant to today, do you think?
😍 And not just the joy of second hand books. 🥰 The joy of historical links too. ✍️🏻The Davidsons, a couple close to Stanley Baldwin, writing to Edward Heath, the man who, 14 years later, echoed Baldwin's words around 'one nation' when entering Downing Street as Prime Minister.
