Colleagues, how would you fix this single leaflet perforation in a healthy 20 year old man? History of traumatic MVC. No known history of endocarditis. Torrential AR. R/N cusps pristine. See image in comments.

I was planning to do Ross but given the nice thick rim of scar tissue, decided to patch with fresh untreated autologous pericardium and running 7-0 prolene tied away from the free margin...

I still cannot understand why people replace regurgitant bicuspid aortic valves in young patients. This patient had seen multiple specialists who recommended aortic valve replacement because of calcium on the fused cusp. Please repair or refer!! @AortaEd @mghachd @MGHHeartHealth

A powerful and sobering presentation by @LucyLNam, our national data reveal a shocking reality that women with Turner Syndrome undergoing aortic surgery in the U.S. face disproportionately high morbidity and mortality. This is a call to action that cannot be ignored. @TurnerSyndSoc @AATSHQ @STS_CTsurgery @mghachd @AortaEd @MGHHeartHealth

At @AATSHQ, the conversation is finally changing. Reconstructive aortic valve surgery and the Ross are taking center stage. About time we faced the fact that prosthetic aortic valves shorten life. #SurviveAS @AortaEd #RepairAR

Aortic valve repair colleagues...does anyone use anything other than prolene for free margin plication? I now have two terrible cases where the suture caused adjacent leaflet damage and I want to use a softer material like Gore-tex or Ethibond. Please advise! @AortaEd @GebrineK @ChrisMalaisrie @schaefers_hans @OuzounianMD @IHamamsy @boodwani @OuzounianMD

Great visit with colleagues and friends at @uvmvermont Medical Center. The collaboration between @MGHHeartHealth, @mghachd, and our UVM partners has been incredible and I’m honored to play a small role in the care of their patients.
