Someone more rehearsed in religion would have to correct me if I’m wrong, but Genesis 9:12-16 — my interpretation — actually reads as an inclusive message to me?
Not sure if Roupp intended that, which in that case would make it incredibly ironic that’s what he chose to write.
The rainbow is symbolic of God’s promise to mankind to not destroy earth. Given the connection between that and LGBTQ pride using the same symbol, that’s why I interpret it that way.
The Red Sox being seventh in the AL is not shocking. Based on run differential they’ve played like a team hovering around .500.
Obviously the results tell a much different story but their high WAR (relative to team record) isn’t surprising.
Not to totally invalidate this exec’s opinion but any team looking at Contreras as an “acquired taste” is shockingly off-base here.
He plays with a bit of an edge and certainly toes the line on the field but the production is ridiculous.
One AL executive to @Feinsand on the Red Sox potential deadline sell-off:
“Gray’s market will be limited by his salary, Contreras is an acquired taste, Duran is having a down season, and Chapman will be a rental reliever. The potential returns for that group will be tempered.”
We talked about this on @ThePeskyReport last night actually.
If Devers played 1B, he’s still here. But he wanted the Sox to give him 1B long term. Is Contreras even here if they keep Devers?
I’d lean yes, but you’re re-opening that DH wound again in ST.
I mean, as tough as it ended, I miss watching Rafael Devers in a Red Sox uniform. Imagine an Anthony-Contreras-Devers 1-2-3? There's a lot of people to blame for that failing to be happen
The Giants are a tricky team to build because, on one hand, it’s hard to build a potent offense without power.
On the other hand, it’s hard to have a powerful offense in that ballpark.
With rumors the Giants are listening on Rafael Devers, here’s my breakdown of why moving him is going to be difficult for SF:

The Red Sox did the unthinkable and won a home series over the weekend!
@BPahlm and I break down this series and talk about some lingering issues this team still has at home, as well as get into some of the recent struggles for Connelly Early.
Monasterio to hit against the LHP with no one on and two outs but couldn't pinch hit for the lefty who struggles against lefties as the would-be go-ahead run 👍
