Regret to share that I’m suspending my campaign for Park Board in order to prioritize my health, my full-time job, and other prior commitments. I greatly appreciate the guidance and support that I received from so many of you over the past 3 months!

After a ton of harassment and truly vile MAGA replies to a recently viral post Elon’s promotion of Grok nudification of real women, I’m stepping away from this app again, perhaps for good.

ICE is responsible for the *only* shooting and homicide in Minneapolis so far in 2026.

I’ve watched the video. DHS is lying. The victim was trying to drive away when ICE was approaching from behind to make her get out of the car. The shooter didn’t fall over or get hit by the car, he just murdered her as she was driving away.
Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters beganĀ blockingĀ Ā ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism. An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensiveĀ shots.Ā  He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.Ā  The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased. The ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries. Ā  This is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our law enforcement. These men and women who are simply enforcing the law on the books are facingĀ 1,300%Ā increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats.Ā  This is an evolving situation, and we will give the public more information as soon as it becomes available.

I’m a proponent of some pedestrianization efforts in the city, but I don’t think we should detour a BRT line to make it happen. BRT thru that intersection is more positive for the businesses there than pedestrianization. And n’hood residents are far from united on desired layout.
Today the City Council took a premature vote on the layout for GFS . The layout looks the exact same as what we have now & is a complete reversal from what residents of my n'hood have worked on for years. This "vision" lacks any thought on how pedestrianization builds business 🧵

Even with this high-profile incident, Minneapolis carjackings are still down 33% YTD vs last year, and down 52% vs the 3-year-avg. Robbery *in general* is down 33%. But most people don’t know that, because the absence of crime isn’t as interesting to consumers of news.

Maybe the lesson is not "Democrats should run moderates" or "Democrats should run socialists" but "Democrats should run candidates who are likable and have politics that are appealing in the specific places they are running."

Well.. clearly my Twitter subscribers are more plugged in to crime reality than the average person. Or maybe the question itself suggested the answer?

It used to be rare to have other bike riders waiting at a red light with me downtown, but I feel like I’ve been seeing it a lot more often. Maybe something to do with in-office mandates? In any case, I enjoy having Active Transportation buddies on my commute.

The new multi-use path along the north side of Lowry Ave NE is now open from Central to Johnson! (This was Phase 2; Phase 1 from Washington to Central was completed last year.)

Incredible turnout for the MPRB Arbor Day event down in Kenny park! I especially enjoyed getting to hear the Arborators play a concert after they climbed high into a cluster of trees 🌲🌳🌲

A shooting homicide over the weekend ended this two-month streak. Homicides still down more than 50% YTD versus the previous 3 year average. 20% drop in homicides nationwide, with Detroit, LA, Baltimore, Philly all reporting their fewest first quarter homicides since the 1960s.
Now 40 straight days without a homicide. Not sure the last time that was true in Minneapolis, but it definitely hasn’t happened since the start of 2018.

I’ll be co-leading the Earth Day Cleanup at Father Hennepin Bluff Park on Saturday the 19th! We will pick up a lot of trash that otherwise would be carried down storm drains and into the river. (Plenty of other clean-up locations, but I can’t guarantee they will have treats!)
