I’m officially making money from music I created independently. My songs have now generated royalties through YouTube ads, downloads, streaming platforms, TikTok, Facebook and videos using my music. Even more surprising, those royalties have come from activity across 24 countries. Australia is still home base, but my music has also reached the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, Brazil, Norway, Kenya, South Korea and places I never expected to see on a royalty statement. I’m still building, but this has shown me that independent music can become more than something you create and leave sitting on a hard drive. A song can keep working after you release it. It can earn through streams, downloads, advertising and social media use while you continue growing your catalogue and finding new listeners. And you don’t need a major label or a huge team to start. You need music, distribution, patience and the willingness to keep learning how the business works. I’m earning real royalties from songs made independently in Australia, and those songs are now travelling around the world. Other independent musicians can do this too. Start small. Release the work. Study the numbers. Keep building. If musicians have a problem with people using AI to create music I respect it. Genuinely. That's their choice but I would invite them to go all the way with their convictions too and release music without a vocal chain, completely raw with Auto-Tune, no Melodyne, no Waves Tune, no vocal rider, no multiband compression, no saturation, no reverb/delay throws, no de-essing, no formant shifting, no background vocal stacks tuned to perfection. Just straight mic → interface → DAW, maybe a tiny bit of EQ if feeling generous. And you know what? Most of them would sound extremely different. A lot of modern “authentic" vocals are basically AI adjacent already. Pitch correction is literally predictive algorithms guessing what the note should be. Vocal chains today use machine learning for things like intelligent noise gating, adaptive EQ, and even stem separation. Go all the way in your convictions.

I´m a pressure cooker.

Since all the changes on 𝕏, my brain has completely switched back into creation mode, and my experience here has improved so much. I’m enjoying 𝕏 again like I used to. I still struggle sometimes when I don’t reach my own expectations, but I think I’m slowly breaking the habit of feeling like I always need to post something. 😅 I’m learning to accept the outcome. Some days don’t perform the way I hope they will, and that still makes me uncomfortable. But for the first time in a long time, I’m prouder of what I create than the numbers it gets. Thank you for being part of this and having fun in my circus. 🫶

Artists can also request feedback from followers. Built for creators who want more than just play counts but real feedback.

Retention chart now accounts for 70% track progress instead full track playthroughs. This is more forgiving and gives more chance to make it into the chart. Updated weekly. The old retention chart is now called top rising for the tracks that had the most full playthroughs. Your retention numbers are now live on the artist page. There may be bugs I expect there will be lol. But this is generally accurate for listeners with accounts. We can't track listens without accounts yet. So it's just a general estimate try not to get caught up in numbers though it's all vanity you are all incredible artists. More bug fixes incoming. Send the Oreos
