BuzzFeed responds to Loryn Brantz over the AI-generated ‘Good Advice Cupcake’ project, claiming she was invited to participate but declined due to her opposition to generative AI.
The company also stated that it owns the IP and that AI is only being used as a “creation tool.”

This is generative AI at its core. To deny that is to deny reality.
This is all it’s meant for. To steal and exploit others work for a profit. And to “punish” real artists for daring to want control.
‘The Good Advice Cupcake’ creator Loryn Brantz says she is “horrified and disgusted” after BuzzFeed allegedly gave her character to an AI platform without her involvement.
She also called for a boycott of BuzzFeed and AI-produced animation.
