The sports you think have the worlds best athletes are in fact by comparison minor, small time sports with a competitive field that is order of magnitude in the hundreds of times smaller. They are small time sports.
Not only have I not seen a single second of World Cup action I also don’t know any of the scores. I’ve no idea what any of the groups are and I genuinely have only a very vague idea of who’s qualified.

If you ever wake up and can’t hear in one ear don’t wait - get a hearing test. I waited thinking it was an ear infection that would go away but it wasn’t. Early treatment would have saved my hearing. Now I’m deaf in one ear and it’s fucking horrible.
