The World Bank is required to submit all relevant financial intermediary fund (FIF) documentation to the #LossandDamageFund within eight months post-COP28. Time is UP! This includes a proposed hosting agreement and a trustee agreement.
Based on these documents, the Board of the Fund will discuss & finally decide whether the @WorldBank is fit for purpose as a host. This is a critical decision to make sure it is tailored to the needs & priorities of those affected, not to the WB's business model.
Expectations are high—once the trustee agreement is in place, there will be no excuse for pledges not to materialize. No More Delays, these funds must be provided and disbursed as grants, not loans.
