It manages to be ableist, racist, biphobic, and transphobic to fuel the story of its gay white man (a descriptor that also fits the writer).
No amount of superb acting can salvage sloppy writing that wants to be about a dozen major social issues it refuses to explore or grasp.

Tip Toe's ending left a genuinely sense of unease, not at all because of the horrifying nature of it, but because a prominent gay writer in 2026 is blind to how his own show perpetuates a tonne of the very problems it suggests are going to get us all brutally harmed and killed.

The UK has become totally stagnant in Europe on LGBTQ equality and rights, falling from 1st to 22nd in a decade. Under Labour it's going to decline even further, because it panders to a loud but demented crowd of bigots who are unhealthily obsessed with trans people.
