Honoured and excited to have been elected as a Labour Councillor for Barnet’s Underhill ward. I don’t take the privilege lightly, and look forward to representing and delivering for residents as best as I can over the next four years.

On the holiest day of the year we are attacked at a Manchester synagogue. Our children walk to school behind barbed wire protected by guns. Yet some still answer this atrocity with “what about…” This is my country, the sanctuary my grandfather found after surviving the Holocaust, promising freedom under the rule of law. Today I pray for the victims, thank the brave who responded and wonder if that promise is fading. A community this small cannot stand alone. If you believe in Britain (wherever you’re from & whatever your faith) you must stand with us. Many Jews cannot imagine a future here and history tells us what follows when that happens.

Growing up, I learned to be generous toward my neighbors, compromise without compromising my values, and to work for the common good. @KamalaHarris and I both believe in that common good – in that fundamental promise of America. We’re ready to fight for it. And like she says: when we fight, we win.

I was honoured to make my maiden speech at the King’s speech debate today. The people of Finchley and Golders Green, both past and present, deserve their time in the spotlight - I was honoured to be able to do that in my speech.

The greatest thanks to all who voted for me in Hertsmere. While we didn’t quite get over the line, I’m proud of our campaign that got Dowden working harder here than ever before, and slashed his majority by more than half. With a Labour government, the change begins now.

Over this campaign I’ve had the honour of speaking to people of all backgrounds. Hertsmere has so many vibrant communities. We need leaders who unite, instead of pitting communities against each other, and who embody hope rather than fear. Tomorrow you can vote for that hope.

Great to be shown round Bhaktivedanta Manor yesterday, and see the wonderful work they do. The value our Hare Krishna community places on community itself is incredibly important - and I’ll embody that if I’m elected Hertsmere’s MP.

Great to be welcomed by Haberdashers’ Schools this afternoon and to meet with Executive Principal Gus Lock and Josh Plotkin, Director of Partnerships. Fantastic to see the inspiring work in action that Habs are doing to support state education and the wider community.

This Thursday, the country faces a choice. Five more years of chaos with the Tories, or turning the page and rebuilding Britain with my changed Labour Party. Change will only happen if you vote for it.

Great to be at the final hustings of the campaign today. It was a shame I had an empty chair next to me as the Deputy PM wasn’t there to put his case forward to residents. If I’m elected in a few days time, I’ll be proud to represent every part of our wonderful constituency.
