Today Parliament passed the Rare Cancers Bill. This will lead to more focus for developing rare cancer drugs. In this job you have the privilege of turning personal grief into real change. I did that today speaking about losing my brother Alex to a rare cancer earlier this year.

Self-professed sexist calls man who assaulted female police officer his ‘hero’. Reform UK has a serious problem with women.
Great to have the endorsement of one of my heroes @antmiddleton

Among the flags that the Reform mayor of Calderdale has decided to stop flying is the flag for white ribbon day on to commemorate victims of male violence against women. White Ribbon UK are a charity founded in Calderdale who encourage men to stand against male violence against women. Around 2 women a week are killed by their partners. So I would ask councillor Andrew Tagg to consider the decision not to support Calderdale’s women again. halifaxcourier.co.uk/news/po…

I know it’s tempting to see everything through the lens of febrile leadership speculation. Doing so means you miss the woods for the trees. @JohnHealey_MP has been a loyal mp and effective front bencher for years. His critique is on governing it’s not part of the soap opera.

Whatever the public talk is of the Kemi bounce, it says all you need to know about lack of confidence in the Tory party that not a single Conservative MP is on the order paper for today’s PMQs.
Community note
MPs have to enter a ballot (known as the 'shuffle') and is run on a computer programme. This decides by random which MPs will ask questions and the order they will be asked in. The MPs are listed in the Order Paper and the Speaker calls on MPs in that order. parliament.uk/business/commo…

For those interested only 47 conservative MPs put into the ballot for PMQs this week despite assertions that they all do!

Former Labour councillor Dan Sutherland who wrote the local plan and said he was proud of it will be furious when he finds out what Reform council leader Dan Sutherland has said about his work.

Your case is that of 116 Tory MPs in the ballot none were called while of 14 Green and Reform MPs 4 came out of the ballot. While I note your condescension about parliamentary process at least I understand probability. It seems unlikely you’re putting in at the same rate.
Poor Josh still doesn’t understand Parliament. It’s a ballot…. names are pulled out of a hat. Tons of Conservatives - like me - put our names in. Sadly, we weren’t chosen.

It is a ballot but if no one is putting in they get no questions.

It was great to speak at a fringe at @GMB_union conference in Blackpool this lunchtime about the work this government has done to stop the unscrupulous use of Subsidiary companies which are used to privatise workers by the backdoor. I’m a proud trade unionist and GMB member and I’m glad to bring those union values into parliament.

You never see Nigel Farage in parliament - he’s so little seen in his constituency that the residents of Clacton have apparently taken to calling him Nigel Mirage - so why is he everywhere in my feed in AI slop pretending he’s in a fight on Question Time?

Good to have a candidate who proudly stands on his record! Great response in Makerfield I think there has definitely been a Question Time effect making up people’s minds.

Our politics is getting angrier and it’s being driven by people who would rather find things to divide us than solutions. But I firmly believe our country is better than that.
In the last 48 hours I’ve been deluged with 100s of vile, misogynistic tweets and death threats. Why? For doing my job: asking @ZiaYusufUK questions about claims by @Nigel_Farage of 2-tier policing. I spoke about this on tonight’s show. Enough is enough. youtu.be/MTrNIyotEHk?si=VElZ…

Social media companies should not have allowed their platforms to sexualise and humiliate women without their permission. Incredibly proud of my friend @Jess4Lowestoft for taking this stand.

This is the difference between an MP wanting to support their constituents to get justice and one wanting to get attention
Robert, thank you for mentioning that I raised Henry’s murder in Parliament. I had to be extremely careful with what I said at the time as the matter was still sub judice 🧵
