I saw this yesterday with Obsession, Backrooms, and Scary Movie 6. I had a smile on my face the entire time. Lots of action, good humor, cool monsters. Everyone nailed their parts. It's a shame we only get one of these movies once every 20 years.
MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE is now tracking to be the biggest bomb of the summer, causing Amazon MGM to lose over $100 million. It opened to $54M globally ($29M domestic) on a $170M–$200M budget.

I wasn't sure if we'd get a remake of this. It looks great. I love how we're getting new games every year! Once they finish with 5 & 6, I hope Capcom moves on to Dino Crisis.
RESIDENT EVIL VERONICA. Coming in 2027.

Which boutique studio is gonna give this one a physical release?
A very cool, under-the-radar story here. The excellent 2018 horror movie CAM has been available to watch precisely NOWHERE since Netflix got rid of it last year, so director Daniel Goldhaber put it up for FREE streaming on his website: bloody-disgusting.com/movie/…

Maybe Kane should write comedies.
Kane Parsons jokes about fake rumors that claimed someone ghost-directed the ‘BACKROOMS’ movie for him. “They don't tell you this, but 96% of all movies released in North America and Europe are actually directed by the same person… They call him ‘The Older Gentleman’”

Phantasm is one of the best/most underrated horror franchises. I love them so much. We've been lucky to have the same cast and characters for the last 40 years.
we're making films for you guys, we want to make cool $%^% and give it to you...... #TrueIndie #PhantasmIsFamily

A UFC match in front of the White House sounds like something I'd see in a post apocalyptic TV series like The Walking Dead.
Trump is bringing the UFC to DC for his birthday. We're bringing the Epstein Files. That's right: the Trump-Epstein Reading Room is heading to DC, just in time for his birthday.

This type of power is why a merger with Paramount and WarnerBros shouldn't be approved.
"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will air its final episode tonight. CBS canceled Colbert's show at the request of the Trump administration.

When I was a kid, I loved going to Blockbuster, so much so that when I thought my dad went there w/o me, I started walking on the freeway to get there. Luckily a lady stopped and brought me home. The cops came to my house and asked if I have mental issues.... I just like movies.
If Pizza Hut can return, then we can resurrect Blockbuster. And we should. While Netflix made things more “convenient” we lost something irreplaceable: The ritual of going to a place with your family or friends to choose a story together. That experience was special.

Starting to make my Funeral Playlist. This needs to be one of the last songs of the night. I want the guests to ask, "Are we in danger? Is Josh coming back? What is happening?" youtu.be/iCS8mGI4o7U?si=1Anl…

A 37 year-old man is being federally investigated after throwing a rock at a monk seal, an endangered species with only around 1,500 seals left. He got beaten up by locals and quickly fled Hawaii.

I like when trailers have rewatchability. (Us, Trials of the Master, Saw X, C.A.: Civil War) The right dialog, music, & momentum makes it more engaging, memorable, & leads to more excitement towards the film. The ED trailers lack that marriage. The movie will still be 10/10, tho.
High quality version of the EVIL DEAD BURN Green Band trailer, which is very different from the Red Band trailer. The Green Band trailer features brand new footage that introduces the characters - including Souheila Yacoub’s Alice - and their twisted family dynamic.

This more traditional trailer has better build up than the RedBand, but it still feels a bit chaotic & my senses are everywhere. That's just me speaking as someone who enjoys editing. The content looks pretty good. But these don't sound like traditional deadites. Something off.

We don't get much in terms of story, but my hope is that they introduce us to some new things. There's other pages in that book! The 2nd half of the trailer is business as usual, but that tease of (possibly) Jessica is one of the most intriguing.

This is the best advertisement for the new Resident Evil movie.
Zach Cregger on his 'Resident Evil' movie 🧟‍♂️ "I wanted this movie to tell the story of what would happen if some idiot like me were dropped into the world of a Resident Evil game. So Austin plays not some badass with combat experience like Leon but just an average dude. That makes his experience of moving through this hellscape way more interesting to me than somebody who’s psychologically equipped" "A pistol [is] the first weapon he acquires in the movie. Just like in the games, as he progresses through the world he’ll get better weapons. It’s such a fun moment when you’re playing RE and you finally get the shotgun or the machine gun and I wanted that sense of progression to be in the movie" "Resident Evil is of course a franchise that’s got a ton of zombies but it’s also got all sorts of weirder monstrosities. Really wanted to make sure that we never got a handle on what kind of dangers we’d find. It’s not just a zombie movie. The T-Virus can have a lot of different effects and I wanted to make sure we had a variety of adversaries" "The slow discovery of horrific elements is something I really love about Resident Evil. It’s not a run and gun action game. It’s about tension and atmosphere and so I really wanted to lean into that. As much as there’s plenty of action in the movie it’s equally important to honor the dread. That moment when you look down a dark passage and you know something awful is waiting in that darkness for you. You don’t want to go forwards but you can’t go back. That’s the sweet spot"

Zack Snyder gave us a Justice League movie where Lois Lane is melted, Aquaman is stabbed in the heart with a trident, and Superman gets obliterated. It was fucking awesome.
Here’s a challenge, say something positive about the Snyderverse
