Loved having the opportunity to share our Makerspace Make&Take ideas at #DTALcon yesterday with @JuleeDonnell! Engaging, curriculum-connected and kids walk away with a souvenir of their learning. Our @vbschools friends are jumping on board! @vblms @JennClementsVB @cwhinsch

The SPCA has a program called Listening Ears where pets are brought to the library each week for students to read to them. It is the cutest thing ever! @vbspca

I did not know that Google turned 25 years old until I saw that #thebookwrangler made this cool resource. What a fun way to get students to read a different variety of books.

I love @BookCreatorApp This is the 1st time that I have used the collaboration feature! 5th graders did research on a Civil War famous person independently & then partnered up for the presentation platform. They had fun working together creating & sharing their information

The rubber band bracelets have been a hit in Makerspace this month. They have learned how to use their fingers as the loom. This table is PACKED all day everyday!

2 VERY busy stations at Makerspace this month - cups & Shrinky Dinks. It makes me so happy that things that I enjoyed when I was little are still considered super fun.

Halloween was so busy that I didnāt post until a day later. Haunted Houses in Makerspace, sequencing thru cup stacking with 1st Gr. for There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Bat, & 3rd Gr. started their unit on Forces & Simple Machines which began w/ push & pull using Dash robots

When I saw these little hats & stickers at Dollar Tree, I immediately thought of the book Grimelda the Very Messy Witch. PreK crafted while working their little fine motor skills.

3 very exciting days for a school librarian: 1) having the book fair delivered; 2) excitement from the kids about the book fair; 3) having the book fair packed back up & getting the library back. Itās exhausting, but wouldnāt change a thing!

PreK read If you Ever Meet a Skeleton and then made themselves into skeletons. They did SO good with the glue and remembered, ājust a dot not a lotā.

Students had a blast working on their Pixton comic strips explaining 3 of the Bill of Rights Amendments! A huge shout out to @JuleeDonnell for facilitating the lesson! @WhiteOaksDragon

This was my first time doing a Directed Drawing & it was GREAT! So many skills - Listening, following directions, waiting, keeping up, & personalizing their drawing. K read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom then drew a coconut tree.
