Kenya’s tourism sector holds immense promise, and realizing our target of five million international visitor arrivals by 2027 will require all of us to work together with a shared sense of purpose. During my engagement with industry stakeholders, I reaffirmed my commitment to open and constructive collaboration as we seek to grow the sector, diversify our tourism offerings beyond traditional safari and beach experiences, and position Kenya as a destination of choice for visitors from around the world. My office will remain open and accessible to all stakeholders as we collectively create more opportunities for investment, job creation, and sustainable economic growth for the benefit of all Kenyans #MagicalKenya

Four days into the nationwide school inspection exercise, I am encouraged by the commitment demonstrated by our Quality Assurance Officers, school leaders, teachers and learners in strengthening safety and stability within our institutions. Learning continues normally in the overwhelming majority of our schools as the Ministry intensifies engagement with learners and education stakeholders while assessing school safety standards, student support systems and learning environments across the country. The ongoing 10-day inspection exercise will provide critical insights to guide further interventions aimed at enhancing learner welfare and ensuring that our schools remain safe, secure and conducive spaces for learning. I wish to assure parents and guardians that the Ministry remains fully committed to protecting every learner and safeguarding uninterrupted learning across the country #ElimuThabiti

At The Kenya High School Speech and Prize Giving Day, I reaffirmed that there will be no unscheduled closure of schools before the official midterm break set for 24-28 June, as learning continues normally in over 99 per cent of our more than 9,500 schools. To strengthen school safety and learner welfare, we have increased the number of Quality Assurance Officers from 600 to 1,000 and deployed them on a nationwide 10-day inspection exercise. The findings will inform the Ministry’s next interventions as we continue working to ensure that our schools remain safe, stable and conducive environments for learning. The safety and well being of our learners remains non-negotiable #ElimuThabiti

I am currently attending The Kenya High School Speech and Prize Giving Day, where we are celebrating the outstanding achievements of learners who continue to distinguish themselves through excellence, discipline, and hard work. As we honour these accomplishments, I remain keenly aware of the challenges that have recently disrupted learning in some parts of the country. The Ministry is actively undertaking targeted interventions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to restore normalcy, safeguard learning, and ensure that our learners remain in school. Our focus is clear: protecting the right of every child to uninterrupted education, strengthening stability within our institutions, and addressing emerging concerns with urgency and responsibility. The resilience and determination displayed by these young achievers today remind us why we must continue working tirelessly to provide a safe, secure, and conducive environment for learning across the country. I look forward to engaging with the school community as the programme continues.
