Sad. 🙄 They predicted that this would happen in 2010.

All this money spent and we see kids having to do fundraisers to represent our national teams in tournaments. 🥴

i’ll never laugh with white south africans at the expense of anything or anyone black. i’m sad bafana bafana lost too, but that isn’t an invitation to start talking down on them or comparing them to the springboks.

these hydration breaks are calm, but it’s funny how during ramadan people completely lost their heads over games being paused for 30 secs - 1 minute so muslim players could break their fast. i still remember the game vs leeds when cherki, ait-nouri & marmoush were booed. the hypocrisy is unreal

Western media showed more outrage for Qatar not allowing alcohol during the World Cup than a place which is denying the entry of both players and fans from multiple nations and has the possibility of a mass shooting at any given time, right

Suddenly all the people who cared about human rights when Russia and Qatar hosted the world cup and suddenly quiet. .. No fancy documentary from the BBC on immigrants rights. No expose on Crime in inner cities (as we saw in South Africa) Just silence.

Finally, that season is over. Take the Champions League place and run. It’s clear the manager is staying now, so him and Richard Hughes need to build a squad capable getting back to the top. A lot of work to be done.

And with that, the 2025/26 season comes to a close. Before the season even began, it was one of the toughest seasons we’ve all ever been through. It’s a season which caps off an emotional 2-3 year period for Liverpool fans, starting from Klopp’s resignation. We’ve felt it all - the highest highs and the lowest lows. We get it. It was a shit season. No one is happy about it. But in a lot of ways, it felt like a fitting end to this period. I’m not surprised we had down season to regroup and reacclimatise our emotional state. Next season we start fresh. Our squad will be almost entirely refreshed. Our ideas will be different. Our patterns will be different. We begin a new journey, building the next great Liverpool Football Club team. You’ll Never Walk Alone. x.com/jogwrld/status/2058587…

Empathy has been in short supply for too long. @ptgorst nailed it. If you actually believe in the words ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, then live by them. Don’t change your tune just because the football doesn’t make you happy. Football without humanity is nothing.
Hearing first hand from Andy Robertson this week about the harrowing impact of Diogo Jota's death behind the scenes at Liverpool has made me re-evaluate a desperately poor season. Have we been too critical? The final Blood Red column of the season. liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/fo…
