I have no idea who to credit for this. But they deserve a Pulitzer.

Fauci’s contradicting of the president almost exclusively involves Fauci stating extremely obvious facts that only need to be stated because the president has chosen to respond to the pandemic with relentless lying.

Hey @jonfavs can we talk about how the extreme voter ID processes in FL and AZ that Republicand implemented are exactly what's slowing down the counting and causing the inefficiency that they're now attacking? Its not just mail ballots its mail ballots w signature verification!

Hey @MLBONFOX and @MLB if you're really interested in promoting baseball to another generation you should consider not giving postseason series to announcers who actively hate modern baseball #firesmoltz

The GOP effort to slam through the Kavanaugh nomination is a flashpoint because it reveals the essence of today's GOP: a belief that some people are better than others, and should rule the rest of us. That has been the heart of GOP since 1980; the Kavanaugh case exposes it. 1/

This "all men should be worried about accusations," is a load of shit. Men who should be worried know they should be worried. The non-assaulting rest of us sleep fine.

@jonfavs Thanks for talking about the career path of Democratic staffers. One thing you didn't mention is that the lack of work-life balance means that anyone who isn't good enough to become a consultant simply leaves the career entirely. That's what I had to do.

Its not just the lack of stability in where you live; its also the 90 hour expected work weeks. When I was hired as a staffer in 2008, working for a union supporting the Iowa Democratic Party, I was told I could take 3 days off before labor day. I would work every other day..

other day, weekends included. And that was incredibly generous because IDP staffers didn't get any time off at all, and people basically worked 8am to 10 or midnight 7 days a week from labor day to election day. People don't do good work in that environment.

@Joe_Davis Lets talk about the decline in stolen bases because it doesn't have much to do with home runs, other than true extremes (eg the dead ball era, or 1968). Stolen bases are a risk/reward play: some portion of the time, you gain a slightly increased chance of scoring. 1/

Its very much not a 'just hit dingers instead' thing. Its that even in a small ball era, getting caught stealing is extremely bad, and so players need to steal when their chances of success are good. The stolen base is really tactical, not strategic. Its bad over 162 games. /7

Over a single inning, its potent - ask Dave Roberts and Mariano Rivera! Even if HR rates were half what they were, no one will ever steal like they did in the 70s and 80s again unless a rule change makes success more likely. Because those teams left runs on the board daily.
