I'm excited to see academic interest in esports performance in general. Seeing a case study for Smash, in particular, is especially exciting. Big thanks to the researchers and players making it possible! I'm looking forward to more research into the field from Dr. Machek et al.
Top-level (TOP 10 WORLDWIDE) Smash Ultimate player heart rates throughout double-elim brackets! You'd think this case subject was RUNNING at these values. Check it out at journals.humankinetics.com/v… DM me for questions!

Top secret #17 : @GlutonnySSB's awareness ! It's not as simple as it looks and it really depends on Match ups I don't know if burst range is the right word for it, but I'll go with that 🇫🇷 French version below 🇯🇵 Japanese version soon 🎵Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel BGM - FO3 Phase B

What made me improve the most was to stop seeing other players as obstacles. Every loss is a symptom of my shortcomings, and my opponents are the ones reflecting that shortcoming back to me. Making this mental switch made me stop blaming the game or saying 'I SHOULD have won' etc

It looks like this is Angel's final regional for charity. GotE been a staple event for the community for years and I recommend anyone in the Tampa Bay area to show up!
Most FGC games will take place on Saturday with SSBU, SSBM, Sailor Moon, and some side brackets on Sunday (more details coming soon).

if you have any competency in ultimate and you are wanting to get better, the biggest disservice to yourself that you could do is not being in your own corner. so many times i’ve heard people say “your only saying your going to win because your top 10” meanwhile my mindset has always been the same way before i got good. “i am human and so am them, its a video game and they are shit” one of the best things i did for myself was taking away the names/ranks of players and just looking at their character and habits. so many players will look at their bracket and just say “I’m going to lose” before the tournament has even started. too many people hit plateaus because they are scared to join the greats, theres a reason your friend that you swear is so good can only use their brain in friendlies but not on their winners round 1 and so on. now imagine actually being on top of a huge stage with a larger crowd? well i don’t have to just live in a fantasy for that image, but a lot would crumble even before pools. it doesn’t just take an anime protagonist mindset to get better. theres a lot of discipline in peoples real lives that people forego (life responsibilities, outside jobs, school, social life, romantic relationships, gym) in the pursuit of it that you absolutely shouldn’t neglect. think literally your sleeping/eating/outside life habits/social media habits. can guarantee if your feeling out of it a lit of these things are easily fixable. but another one of the best things you can do for yourself is allowing yourself to grow outside of the game. its basic to say but with a lot of how the community presents themselves and the mentality that i see from people all the time its something i have always thought about. the meta sucks until your the one dominating it, otherwise your just going to be a pawn to real players. if you want to genuinely improve you have to stop lying to yourself about your faults and address them in and out of the game. or you will never achieve what you want. and you know what sometimes its not for everybody, there can only be one winner. as a friend to some and a competitor to all, i can only wish you luck.

The most important thing in Smash: a mindset thread 🧵 "No matter if i win or lose, i feel satisfied". We're in 2026, playing with only victory in mind is now widely spread, and (too) many players are convinced they should go big, or go home. This will not make you improve 1/9
These days when i play smash no matter i win or lose i feel satisfied and the need to keep playing and get better. I love playing good smash no matter the result. Meanwhile look at this
