As someone completely new to building my own hardware, discovering the Pilet from
@soulscircuit felt like finding the perfect north star. This modular Raspberry Pi 5 powered mini computer isn’t just impressive, it’s the current front runner in pocketable, open source Linux hardware.
I especially love how they handled detachable modules. The design makes expandability clean and future proof: Snap on NVMe storage, Hailo AI accelerator, better cooling, and more.
It’s smart, practical, and exactly the kind of thinking I’m trying to bring into my own build.
The cellular LTE option is crazy (in the best way). Adding proper LTE with a detachable antenna turns this into a truly independent device you can use anywhere. Super ambitious and incredibly useful.
On top of that, the overall design is beautiful. That retro futuristic look, clean lines and solid build quality just feels premium and fun.
Pilet has helped my project tremendously. Seeing how a small team executed modularity, battery life, and open source principles gave me confidence and tons of practical ideas while I’m still figuring everything out.
Huge respect to the Soulcircuit team. This project is pushing the Raspberry Pi community forward, and I’m genuinely grateful it exists. Can’t wait to see where it goes next!
