Grateful to share what I've been working on recently as I continue to reflect on my experience teaching abroad in Oxford. It was a deep joy to interface Christian theology with experiential learning here, and to contribute to a journal that has been so impactful in my own growth

AI feedback can benefit students, but educators are increasingly turning to automated feedback to reduce their workload. Let's address the material conditions causing educators to feel burnt out first before adopting AI as a stand in for human connection. (👆link in bio)

Excited for yet another #LancLearns conference! My session will invite faculty to employ an enactivist framework for interpreting and planning for meaningful learning experiences

Ok @PlayProfessors @PODNetworkHQ - i've long been on a journey with play in my classroom and work, but my current growth area is using Legos/playdough! I would love to hear ideas for how i might use these in either faculty development or the classroom - thanks in advance!

US teachers on average spend 28 hours of their work week in face-to-face instruction. Finland? 21 hours. Japan? 18 hours. Who could have guessed that giving teachers more time time to plan, assess, give feedback, engage in professional learning, etc. would improve outcomes?

This is such a powerful way to frame teacher education and development - thanks for helping me to articulate what i've experienced and tried to communicate (poorly :) ) to my students and colleagues, @PepsMccrea!

After returning from my first experience teaching a study abroad course, which was INCREDIBLE, i've been thinking about a few tips for others considering the same - for reference, my course was taught in conjunction with Oxford University and was designed for that context (1/13)

Don't waste the opportunity by teaching via what i'll call "educational tourism" - consider how to make the most of experiential learning by reading up on it (Kolb is a great place to start) and avoid just visiting sites and writing reflection papers (12/13)

And last but perhaps most importantly for faculty - plan to reflect carefully on how this is stretching and growing your own pedagogy - perhaps plan for this through journaling, blogging, or even recording media in that location to benefit your courses back home (13/13)
