The biggest challenge facing any major incoming government is that as a society we’ve confused hyper connected single issue solidarity with community. Communities requires a broad church, where all these single issues are interconnected, not pitted against each other.

I'm getting a lot out of life at the moment. I don't know why, or I at least can't quite put my finger on it. I'm probably just in the sweet spot between bipolar dips, but whilst I'm here, I felt like saying; I'm broke, it's cold, I'm stressed, but getting a lot out of it.

I fucking love Kae Tempest, and a few years ago I wouldn’t have said that. I held with disregard what I hadn’t ever really tried sitting with. But the more I sat with their work, reading, listening, watching, the more I was moved by it in ways that other things rarely move me.

Jeremy Hunt just said that arrivals of refugees to the UK has gone down by 1/3, whilst up 1/3 in other countries. As if it’s a good thing. Like rather than attempting to solve systemic problems that lead to displacement the Tory’s are a flexing a “not our problem” policy.

I’m exceptionally proud to be back in the village I grew up in with some long-term friends of mine re-creating a community pantomime we first stages 20 years ago.
A proper passion project and blown away by what a community coming together with a common goal can accomplish.
